SQL> connect scott/tiger
ERROR:
ORA-28000: the account is locked

Here's the solution to fix the issue:
From your command prompt, type:
[oracle@oracle10g ~]$ sqlplus '/as sysdba'
Once logged in as SYSDBA, you need to unlock the scott account.
SQL> alter user scott account unlock;
Code: Select all
SQL> alter user scott account unlock;
User altered.
SQL> grant connect, resource to scott;
Code: Select all
SQL> grant connect, resource to scott;
Grant succeeded.
SQL> connect scott/tiger
Code: Select all
SQL> connect scott/tiger
Connected.
[oracle@oracle10g ~]$ oerr ora 28000
28000, 00000, "the account is locked"
